About the webinar

The Green Climate Fund (GCF) was created to channel resources from developed countries to developing countries to finance their actions in greenhouse gas mitigation and adaptation to climate change. The GCF is set to become the main fund for financing the fight against climate change, mobilizing USD 100 billion by 2020.

In order to access the GCF, countries must have the capacity to plan financing as well as to monitor, report and verify financial expenditures associated with climate change. To this end, there is a readiness assistance program aimed at improving domestic ownership and access to the GCF through institutional capacity building.

In this webinar, participants will learn about recent advances in the operation of the GCF and how countries in the region are preparing to access it, and will be able to ask questions in a segment specially designed to clarify doubts and guide the search for additional information. The webinar will be held at Spanish. If you have any questions about this event, please contact the LEDS LAC Platform Secretariat: [email protected].
