VI Taller Regional

About the Workshop

The VI LEDS LAC Regional Workshop was held in Mexico City from October 16-18, 2017, within the framework of the Second Latin American and Caribbean Climate Week. It was attended by more than 170 people, including government officials, international organizations, non-governmental organizations and other actors working to promote climate compatible development from 25 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as countries from other regions.

This year's central theme was Governance for resilient and low-emission development: linking stakeholders, sectors and levels of government to advance the implementation of the NDCs. The agenda was designed to maximize interaction among attendees, who had the opportunity to:

  • To learn about recent experiences in the region, results of studies, application of tools and practical cases in the participating countries.
  • Express their opinions and share their experiences in plenary and group discussions.
  • Participate in training sessions organized by international partner organizations of LEDS LAC.
  • Share the results of their projects with colleagues from all over the region at the Marketplace of Ideas.
  • Expand your network of contacts and identify opportunities for collaboration.

During two and a half days, participants in the workshop had the opportunity to share experiences and best practices regarding governance for resilient and low-emission development, identify common challenges, strengthen capacities and establish collaborative links.

The VI workshop was organized by the Mexican Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (SEMARNAT), the National Institute of Ecology and Climate Change (INECC) and the LEDS LAC Regional Platform, and co-organized with CAF - Development Bank of Latin America, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the NDC Partnership.
