Background and recommendations for the development, updating and sustainability of Long-Term Climate Strategies in Latin American countries.

The purpose of this study is to provide the countries of the region with background information on the main aspects that make up the LCAs and the existing experiences from which they can draw when developing their national strategies.
Exchange Space on Long Term Climate Strategies

The exchange space is an initiative promoted by the EUROCLIMA+ program that seeks to facilitate the exchange of experiences and best practices in the design and implementation of LCAs in the Latin American region.
The Climate and Society Game

The Climate and Society Game explores different abilities and vulnerabilities of people in the face of climate change. It is a team facilitation tool and a playful approach to address the interconnection between gender and climate change.
Toolbox for capacity building on gender and climate change

This toolkit aims at continuous capacity building to promote the incorporation of the gender approach in climate change management. The toolkit's approach is comprehensive and integrative, articulating a multidimensional approach to climate change, in connection with the proposal of sustainability and gender equality from an intersectional perspective.
Key Elements for the Elaboration of a Long-Term Climate Strategy
The document presents the results of three case studies in Latin America, which serve as a preamble to identify the key elements, lessons learned, niches of opportunity and challenges that countries face in developing their LCAs. It proposes elements that a LCA should contain as a review guide and a series of recommendations for its development.
Pathways to Climate Transparency - Latin America and the Caribbean
The report aims to identify the major challenges faced by LAC countries in complying with the ETF and to recommend ways of improvement in order to move towards better monitoring and reporting systems and practices for climate change. The scope of the report covers 10 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, although this is a sample of the 33 countries in the region, it seeks to illustrate the progress made in LAC based on a methodology that can be extended to the rest of the countries.
Resources and technical tools focused on the energy sector

There are thousands of resources and tools, which can be found listed in this repository.
Key elements for including gender equality and women's empowerment in climate policies and Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs)

The document provides guidance on key gender elements for countries that are: updating their NDCs; designing new climate policies; and/or developing sectoral policies to respond to climate impacts.
All in: How Just Transition Can Help Deliver the Paris Agreement

This report explains what just transition means to UNDP, why it is key to achieving the Paris Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and some global and regional trends in relation to just transition. It also provides a deeper look into UNDP's Framework for Mainstreaming Just Transition in NDCs and LTS and highlights, through country case studies, how UNDP is supporting this work in Serbia, South Africa, Costa Rica, India, and Antigua and Barbuda.
Issue brief: Just Transition. Incorporating Just Transition into the design and implementation of Nationally Determined

This report summarizes the five key areas in which expanded support will be provided to promote a just transition to a climate-resilient, low-carbon economy, building on Climate Promise support.
Quality Assurance Checklist: For Long-Term Low Greenhouse Gas Emission Development Strategies

The Quality Assurance Checklist for Long-term Low Greenhouse Gas Emission Development (or LDE) Strategies assists governments, civil society and other key stakeholders during the design phase of LDEs and during their review and revision. The checklist provides a series of guiding questions to be considered when assessing the quality of a LTS and the underlying processes. As the LTS are country-specific, the checklist is intended to serve as a quick reference guide and to be interpreted in the national context.
Investment and Financial Flow Analysis

Countries/sectors assess a baseline situation and a target scenario (in this case carbon neutrality/LTS), to identify sector-specific financial needs. The assessments provide a better macroeconomic understanding/assessment/ of the magnitude and intensity of national efforts needed to address climate change, as well as a better understanding of the financial reallocations and additional funds needed to implement mitigation and adaptation actions.
