Moreover, they can help to explore the consequences of policy choices in terms of integrated socio-economic objectives. These strategies will play an important role in guiding countries toward limiting warming to 1.5-2\u00b0C above pre-industrial levels and enhancing of nationally determined contributions (NDCs).<\/p>\n<p>As countries develop their revised NDCs, aligning near-term NDC goals with long-term planning instruments will enable them to avoid short-term investments and decisions that may lock them into undesired pathways (WRI 2017). This webinar will focus specifically on the benefits of aligning short and long-term planning and the specific ways in which partners and member countries have approached this. Pearce\u2019 special lectureship on Environmental Economics at the Universidad Aut\u00f3noma Metropolitana. Juan Carlos is an Economist from Universidad Aut\u00f3noma Metropolitana, Mexico.
