About the webinar<\/h3>\n

Green bonds are investment instruments that have the primary purpose of financing mitigation or adaptation to climate change projects. Operation is simple: the investor delivers a quantity that in the medium to long term will be reimbursed plus a determined benefit (bond). The difference is that green bonds are labeled to shortlisted climate projects.<\/p>\n

The market has grown exponentially in recent years and issued a total expected for 2016 that will double the number of 2015. The Paris Agreement also provides a promising framework for this instrument. It is expected that nationally determined contributions in the Paris Agreement will boost investments by governments and companies in large-scale climate projects, while no economic returns are slaughtered, providing fertile ground for the issuance of more bonds of this type.<\/p>\n

In this webinar the conceptual foundations of green bonds were known. We also met the experience of Mexico \u2013who has emitted three green bonds- in the development and implementation of this instrument. The webinar was held in Spanish.
