About the webinar<\/span><\/h2>\n

Climate Tagger<\/strong> is a suite of tools to help knowledge-driven organizations<\/strong> in the climate and development arenas streamline and catalogue their data and information resources, and connect them to the wider climate knowledge community. The Climate Tagger API is free to use and has been widely adopted in the field \u2013 by 2015 more than 700,000 documents had been analysed and tagged.<\/p>\n

Climate Tagger utilizes Linked Open Data<\/a>, and was first introduced by REEEP and other organizations of the Climate Knowledge Brokers Group<\/a> in 2011. It is backed by the expansive Climate Compatible Development Thesaurus, compiled with the help of experts in fields ranging from climate mitigation and adaptation to economy and green growth, and many more specific sub-sectors.<\/p>\n

To make Climate Tagger valuable for a wide range of climate knowledge brokers across the globe, the tool has been built to support five languages (English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, and German). Recently, we have looked at the use of controlled vocabularies in organizations from the LAC region, to learn from one another and to establish ties with potential collaborators.<\/p>\n

About the speakers<\/span><\/h2>\n

Wendy Alfaro<\/strong>
Focused on result-driven research, MSc. in Human Nutrition for Health Promotion and Food Science and Technology. Conducted research for several international and national organizations in LEDS (Low Emission Development Strategies), sustainable development, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), energy efficiency, green jobs, organic and Fair Trade products and specific market studies in the Latin American region. Wrote cases of sustainable leading companies and institutional and regulatory frameworks that support the adherence to environmental and social practices. Passionate about climate change and its impact on agriculture, food, nutrition and health.<\/p>\n

Monica Coll Besa<\/strong>
She is a fellow researcher at the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI), in the center of Oxford, England. Her work focuses on the analysis of social and climate vulnerability, and planning for adaptation to climate change. Specifically, she focuses on participatory processes for decision making and governance.
