These systems are key pieces, both to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of adaptation and mitigation processes, incorporating new information and lessons learned, and to transparently verify and report compliance with the commitments assumed under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, the Paris Agreement and other multilateral agreements.<\/p>\n<p>In view of this need, FIIAPP, as one of the executing agencies of the Climate Governance Component of Euroclima+, with support from the Secretariat of Environment and Natural Resources of Mexico (SEMARNAT), the National Institute for Ecology and Climate Change (INECC) and the LEDS LAC Platform Secretariat, organized a Regional Workshop in Mexico City, from April 16 to 18 of this year, as a space to exchange experiences, promote inter-institutional coordination and strengthen communication channels, between representatives of institutions in charge of climate policy and those responsible for monitoring and evaluating public policies in general, from 17 Latin American countries.<\/p>\n<p>This webinar will present the main results of the exchange that took place within the framework of the mentioned Workshop and the progress of Mexico and Paraguay in the structuring of institutional arrangements and development of tools for the monitoring and evaluation of their mitigation and adaptation policies, plans and projects.
