The LEDS LAC Platform will be participating with a series of side events during COP 25. About the event:<\/b> The circular economy contributes to climate resilience and has the potential to improve livelihoods, create new jobs and stimulate private sector innovation. This side event will bring together representatives from different sectors who will share their experiences and discuss the importance of circular economy strategies to design and implement more efficient and low-emission production systems with the aim of increasing ambition towards NDC commitments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About the event: <\/b>Private sector engagement is key to ensuring the viability of climate policies, mobilizing finance for their implementation, and making countries' climate commitments more ambitious. Members of the Community of Practice (CoP) on Private Sector Engagement in Climate Policy in Latin America have identified factors that facilitate a systematic involvement of the private sector in climate policy and action and the main lessons learned will be presented during this session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Progress on climate action in Latin America - Nationally Determined Contributions to 2019<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

About the event:<\/b> This event will present the main advances and challenges in the implementation of NDCs in Latin America and the Caribbean, through the presentation of three regional studies, which constitute a frame of reference on the implementation of NDCs in the region. The studies were prepared by LEDS LAC (with support from IDB and UNDP), ECLAC and GIZ together with Fundaci\u00f3n Avina and ECLAC, in all three cases with support from EUROCLIMA+. In this side event we will learn about the findings of these studies and hear the concrete experience of two countries: Ecuador and Paraguay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
